Healing verses and ruqyah duas from the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah

⚠️ Ruqyah Shariah complements medical treatment — it is not a substitute for it

💡 The Prophet ﷺ said: "And what made you think it was a ruqyah?" — Narrated by Al-Bukhari. Al-Fatihah is the greatest chapter of the Quran and the most effective in Ruqyah.

📖 سورة الفاتحة — 7 آيات

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿١﴾ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿٢﴾ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿٣﴾ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ﴿٤﴾ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ﴿٥﴾ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ﴿٦﴾ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ ﴿٧﴾

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds — The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful — Sovereign of the Day of Recompense — It is You we worship and You we ask for help — Guide us to the straight path — The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

💡 The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death." — An-Nasai, authenticated by Al-Albani.

📖 البقرة:255

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Al-Baqarah:255)

💡 The Prophet ﷺ said: "Seek refuge with Al-Muawwidhataan, for nothing like them has ever been sought for protection." — Abu Dawud & An-Nasai. He ﷺ would read them every night before sleep, blow into his hands, and wipe his body.

📖 سورة الفلق (113)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿١﴾ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ﴿١﴾ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ﴿٢﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ﴿٣﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ﴿٤﴾ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ﴿٥﴾

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak — From the evil of what He has created — And from the evil of darkness when it settles — And from the evil of those who blow on knots — And from the evil of an envier when he envies. (Al-Falaq:1-5)

📖 سورة الناس (114)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿١﴾ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴿١﴾ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ﴿٢﴾ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ﴿٣﴾ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ﴿٤﴾ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ﴿٥﴾ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ﴿٦﴾

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind — The Sovereign of mankind — The God of mankind — From the evil of the retreating whisperer — Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind — From among the jinn and mankind. (An-Nas:1-6)

💡 Scholars have identified six verses in the Holy Quran explicitly mentioning healing (shifa). These are recommended to recite during ruqyah and when seeking cure from Allah.

📖 يونس:57

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاءٌ لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. (Yunus:57)

📖 الإسراء:82

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers. (Al-Isra:82)

📖 الشعراء:80 — من دعاء إبراهيم ﷺ

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ

And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. (Ash-Shu'ara:80 — from the supplication of Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ)

📖 النحل:69 — في ذكر العسل

يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ

There emerges from their bellies a drink varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. (An-Nahl:69 — referring to honey)

📖 فصلت:44

قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ

Say: It is for those who have believed, a guidance and a cure. (Fussilat:44)

📖 التوبة:14

وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ

And He will heal the breasts of a believing people. (At-Tawbah:14)

💡 Authentic supplications narrated with sound chains from the Prophet ﷺ, which he used to recite as ruqyah for himself, his family, and his companions.

📖 متفق عليه

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction, heal, for You are the Healer. There is no cure except Your cure, a cure that leaves no illness behind. — Agreed upon (Bukhari & Muslim)

📖 رواه مسلم

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ، مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنِ حَاسِدٍ، اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ، بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ

In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye. May Allah cure you. In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you. — Narrated by Muslim

📖 رواه مسلم

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created. — Narrated by Muslim
