Al-Qiyamah

Tafsir
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ 1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection
Tafsir 75:1
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ 2
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].
Tafsir 75:2
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ 3
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?
Tafsir 75:3
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ 4
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
Tafsir 75:4
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ 5
But man desires to continue in sin.
Tafsir 75:5
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ 6
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
Tafsir 75:6
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ 7
So when vision is dazzled
Tafsir 75:7
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ 8
And the moon darkens
Tafsir 75:8
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ 9
And the sun and the moon are joined,
Tafsir 75:9
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ 10
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"
Tafsir 75:10
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ 11
No! There is no refuge.
Tafsir 75:11
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ 12
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.
Tafsir 75:12
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ 13
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.
Tafsir 75:13
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ 14
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,
Tafsir 75:14
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ 15
Even if he presents his excuses.
Tafsir 75:15
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ 16
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.
Tafsir 75:16
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ 17
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.
Tafsir 75:17
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ 18
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.
Tafsir 75:18
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ 19
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].
Tafsir 75:19
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ 20
No! But you love the immediate
Tafsir 75:20
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ 21
And leave the Hereafter.
Tafsir 75:21
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ 22
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,
Tafsir 75:22
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ 23
Looking at their Lord.
Tafsir 75:23
وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ 24
And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,
Tafsir 75:24
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ 25
Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.
Tafsir 75:25
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ 26
No! When the soul has reached the collar bones
Tafsir 75:26
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍۢ 27
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"
Tafsir 75:27
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ 28
And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation
Tafsir 75:28
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ 29
And the leg is wound about the leg,
Tafsir 75:29
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ 30
To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.
Tafsir 75:30
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ 31
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.
Tafsir 75:31
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ 32
But [instead], he denied and turned away.
Tafsir 75:32
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ 33
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].
Tafsir 75:33
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ 34
Woe to you, and woe!
Tafsir 75:34
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ 35
Then woe to you, and woe!
Tafsir 75:35
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى 36
Does man think that he will be left neglected?
Tafsir 75:36
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ 37
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?
Tafsir 75:37
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ 38
Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him]
Tafsir 75:38
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ 39
And made of him two mates, the male and the female.
Tafsir 75:39
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ 40
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
Tafsir 75:40
